Engaging my senses makes me feel vibrant and centered and optimistic. This is one of the ways I’m exploring mindfulness. I’m trying to stay authentically present (though not always easy) and conscious of how my life experiences make me feel each day. This creates a thread and that thread helps me understand who I am and in what direction I'm going.
When things feel less than wonderful, some self awareness helps build gratitude and strength. When something is really good: when I’m inspired, in love, or in awe - if I can slow down and enjoy it, take an indulgent moment to silently note the magic or beauty - it seems like it becomes part of me forever. It never leaves. Or like a snapshot, I can carry it with me. I’m able to live on with the good energy for longer.
Go ahead, try it. See if makes a difference for you.
